Along the picture perfect scenic drive of a small rural town is what remains of Horse Grove. The original town "founder's" house which was meant to be a historical landmark, now lays in a rubble falling in on itself.
The old worn wooden bridge that once spanned across the creek and carried the travelers over to the next area has also since been removed due to many hard winters and lack of care. However there is still plenty of reasons to visit.
There at one time was a schoolhouse in the old town, but as times changed the original town faded and the new town was born, but not before it carved it's own imprinted memories that still haunt it today. Parts of the original schoolhouse are still standing in the new town. They were brought here then sold or given to the towns people and turned into various other buildings.
The site of the old schoolhouse still carries the sounds of children laughing and playing, and even an occasional glimpse of a child from those days, who will appear at the foot of the now almost completely over grown path that once lead to the school.
The old bridge site also has a history, and a few lucky people have seen the young girl who fell victim to an untimely death when she drown in the creek. She is seen most often during early fall just before sundown, and all who have seen her describe the same girl.
Another old house of 1 of the earliest settlers was also recently torn down, but it also had it's share of ghostly reports, rangeing from people being spotted in the windows to lights being on in a house that hasn't had electricuty in decades. But exactly who these spirits are is still unknown. Some believe it was the original owners who built the house while others believe it was the last occupant who died while away at war.
The old cemetery of the town also changed with the times, and was eventually moved to the new cemetery. But as most old cemetery's stories go, not all of the graves were moved. Several people were buried without markers so their graves were never found, and other's were to old and weren't able to be moved without disturbing the remains. 1 such grave sits on the land where the most recent house was torn down.
This area has a natural beauty that seems to attract people, however it seems to have a whole different set of rules at night. There have been several verified reports from researcher's and visitors who became physically nauseous in some areas and who were also physically attacked by unseen "entities" which left many of them to terrified to return to the area even in the daytime.
There are also reports of feeling very unwelcomed there at night, and a general uneasiness in the air. Many people claim they have felt watched or followed and until they have actually left the area and made it back to town the feelings stayed with them.
