I got this idea from another board I'm a member of and I thought it was a great idea. The object is to get each person to leave ONE piece of advice for new hunter's or researcher's (or even some old one's), that you think are important or will be helpful. You can either add more details to the previous comment if you choose, or you can make your own statement of a different bit of advice. This way we all get to share some advice and maybe learn something new also. I'll start...
Be sure of your intentions, if your goal is to go out just for a scare then this really might not be your area. You have to be willing to accept that not every hunt or investigation will have results. And you also have to do things legal, if your ever in a situation where police or emergency personel are needed they will question your reasons for being where you are. Make sure that you have permission to be in the area, otherwise your emergency may also result in landing you in jail or with a big fine. TRESPASSING IS ILLEGAL.

Check your attitudes at the door...meaning basically always approach an investigation with a positive attitude. Negative entities feed off of fear and negative energy. So any negative energy thats being put off by you or your group can and does effect how your outcome is on the investigation. Also nobody wants to have another member with them who is having a bad night and taking their negativity out on the rest of them. So just remember the old saying, "One bad apple spoils the whole bunch" your attitude has the same effect. In other words your bad mood can put everyone else in the same mood and ruin what otherwise could have been a great night for you all.

Always bring a good length of rope. If there is a steep slope that you might have to climb several times, it can be a handy handrail. Or if someone falls into a ravine you'll have a way to get them out. Plus, if there are wells or deep holes in the property you are investigating, you could tie the rope to your video camera and lower it into the well. You can never be too thorough.
