The recent weather alerts about tornadoes across NW Iowa were poorly covered by most of the TV Stations covering Cherokee. They just posted a little watch box in the lower left corner of the TV screen announcing a Tornado in Cherokee County. But they didn't alert you to where in the county it was. I went out side to listen for the Civil Defense Sirens but heard none. Through the night I went out 3 separate times to listen for Sirens, and never heard them. Come to find out the next day, the sirens covering where I was, wasn't working. Thanks a whole hell of a lot, Cherokee! I sat on the couch watching TV through the storm alerts. I survived. Little to no storm damage, nor any real flooding in Cherokee, this past week. So how did you fare?

Those are frightening pictures. You know I don't recall ever asking if I would get flooded in any of the homes I've lived in. Do most people ask things like that before buying a house? Did you have water problems in your basement then? And was it a creek or river that flooded, or just flat land with no run off capabilities? If it was a river, which one was it, and where did you say you moved to? You can PM me that info, if you don't want to share it here. Loved your new home otherwise! Great improvement over where you lived before. So did the Spirits from the last location inspire you to move, or did they move with you? If not how did they take your departure? TT

Honestly, I never thought of asking if we'd flood at any place I've lived. Although I survived the flood of 1993 in Des Moines with little to no damage, although sheK hasn't been quite as lucky this time around in the same house I lived in back then. But no, I didn't have any real trouble with water in the crawl space, we don't actually have a basement. Other than getting a little water because of power going out and causing the sump pump from running. But it cleared up esy enough after a few dry days lol. The water was basically all just from flat land where there was nowhere for it to drain out into. We decided to move not because of spirit activity but because we just didn't need so much house any more, with just me and Arn now that old house was to much trouble to keep up with, so we decided to down size. As far as I know right at the moment our old house is empty while the new owners work on the changes, painting new roof, ect. they want to make before moving in. So I'm not sure how it will go. I know prior to our moving as things were being packed up things went missing, or got moved, unpacked ect. So I'm not sure if they were happy about us leaving or not, but No I don't think anyone moved with us. And for the most part the new house is quiet. But I will admit that I'm still missing the old house and all the activity that I had there. So I'm very ready to get out and do some investigating as soon as the weather decides to cooperate although it's going to be another bad year for ticks, mosquitos ect. You'll have to come and see the new house in person, it really is a nice house, but there aren't 10 foot ceilings here, so you may need to duck your head under 1 or 2 doorways.
