Have you ever read the book titled: "Letters from a Nut" by Ted Nancy?
Here is one of my own attempts at writing to the Corp. Offices!
Dear General Mills:
Since your company is engaged in the production of food products, such as "Bugles" I assume you are a retired Officer from the Military Service. I would have never guessed that anyone engaged in the Food Service Dept. of the Military could ever reach the rank of General. Koo-dough's to you!
I'm contacting you in regards to your delicious product called "Bugles". Obviously named for it's connection to your Military past.
I enjoy these delicious treats, as the "Original" Bugles taste like buttered popcorn. I would love for theaters to sell your product instead of their popcorn! Bugles are just that Great!
I bought a bag of Bugles to take to work the other night. I had a craving for something salty, yet I also wanted something sweet too.
So I bought two containers of Prepared Frosting, one of "Butter Cream", and one of "Classic Chocolate". As I sat at work in front of my coworkers, I would pick up a "Bugle" by it's pointy end and apply a small dollop of frosting to the open end of the Bugle. Thusly making a creation that looked like a miniature ice cream cone. It was great tasting! It reminded me of when I was a kid, and would spread frosting on saltine crackers. But this is better!
( However my coworker expressed some concern over me applying frosting to your Bugles. My coworker said, "Dave you are very close to the edge of being committed!" This would be easily facilitated as I work in a Psychiatric Facility!" )
As I made my way through the bag of Bugles I spied one bugle that was a very dark golden brown color. Obviously a burnt or at least twice cooked product.
The overcooked Bugle intrigued me! I wondered what a twice fried Bugle would taste like? So I snatched it out of the pile of Bugles, and popped it into my mouth, and crunched away! It was fantastic tasting!
I don't know if it was the fact it was twice fried, or because of an odd taste in my mouth, but it tasted like a "Toasted Onion" flavor. It was delicious!
I notice in the stores that you sell a variety of Bugle flavors ie: Salsa, Nacho, BBQ. But I have never seen a bag labeled "Toasted Onion". Do you have any plans of making a "Toasted Onion" flavored Bugle Product?
I would highly recommend that you research this idea, and begin immediately with plans to produce such a new taste sensation!
"Toasted Onion flavored Bugles" would be a very popular product! I know I would buy them. My coworkers thought it would be a great taste to savor as well!
Can we look forward to seeing this new Product Line on the shelves of our local Grocery Stores in the near future?
Sincerely,
Dave T.
