I have an acquaintence who is a Cherokee Police Officer. He has expressed Skeptism in regards to Ghost Hunting. But his wife has gone on a few Ghost Hunts with her friends, that I have somewhat hosted. Actually she is a bit skeptical too. She has expressed doubt in Table Tipping, but she is quite intersted in EVP's. He admits to having had some Paranormal Encounters in his life, though doesn't want it to be public knowledge. A fear for most Professionals in the Public Eye. I plan on meeting with him to-night to bring him up to snuff on our recent Table Tipping excursions, and Billy's EVP Tapes. Ghost Hunters are traditionally at ends with the local law Enforcement Agencies, as they generally deem us to be wackoes. And look at us with their raised eye brows when we explain what we are up to. But hey! Cops are people just like us. Not every one of them, is a Skeptic. Some can be, shown the light!

I understand his thinking, I have alot of good friends in law enforcement who have had paranormal experiences but they don't want to admit them publicly because of being teased or frowned on for it. Most of them are really good about talking to me about what they went through b/c they know I won't judge their sanity for telling me. And they are also good about allowing me to go into places b/c they know I will be responsible and follow the rules I sat down (leaving when I say, only have the amount of people I said with me, ect.) When I first came up here, I seemed to get looked at a little different for awhile myself, I tended to keep what I did to myself b/c I figured most of my EMS team would judge me wrong or decide to boot me for being "crazy". But they were actually more accepting than I gave them credit for once they knew me. I'm sure once he see's that you are serious and not a whacko, and that you arew approaching this from a professional manner (meaning your not jumping up and claiming everything is a ghost ect.) then he will come around and may be more willing to share with you. Go all out Dave, invite him to join you on a paranormal investigation sometime. Let him see what we do and how it works, show him the serious side of researching and going through tapes, video's, evp's. and how we have to process everything with logic. In other words let him know even as believers we can still be skeptical and that just because someone throws a claim out about ghost and hauntings that were not falling for everything. We are interested in proof, but our names are on the line also. You might be amazed at his reaction once he knows that part. Good luck tonight, I hope it goes well.
