Back in 82 I moved to Page County to get away from all the Paranormal occurrences that I was experiencing in Cherokee County. I thought it was the location that was causing me to experience all this weird stuff. So I moved, and left all that creepy stuff behind, or so I thought.
I went to work in a Hospital in SW Iowa near Red Oak. I had taken my 12 yr old nephew on a day fishing trip to Viking Lake State Park which sits approx. between Red Oak and Villisca, Iowa.
We had been fishing all day and hadn't caught a single fish. We were on the south end of Viking Lake fishing. Or should I say my nephew was fishing; I had given up hope of catching anything.
I was bored, and planned to stir up some excitement.
I picked up a Yam/Sweet Potato sized piece of hard formed orangish clay, with the intention of throwing it over my nephew's head and into the water on the other side of him, making him think a fish had just jumped out of the water.
Thing was he stood at the base of an embankment approx. 12 ft. below me and about 15 ft further out from me.
When I bent over to pick up the clay rock, my sight of my hand holding the rock disappeared. ( Sort of like on the old "Bonanza Show", where the map would burn away showing the Cartwrights riding on their horses. )
This vision I had showed me throwing the rock over my nephews head. But instead of traveling in an natural arch that thrown objects take, when the rock was directly over his head; it fell straight down and hit him on the head!
I immediately threw the rock on the ground. And stood up. I didn't want to hit him in the head with that rock!
But I thought...wait just a minute! Thrown objects travel in a natural arch they don't just reach a peak point in elevation and fall straight down. So I leaned over and picked up the rock and threw it.
Sure enough when the rock got directly over his head, it fell straight down to wards his head!
I yelled, "Duck! Duck!!" but he just stood there looking up at the sky when the rock beamed him in the skull. He crunched down to his knees in pain, and staggered back wards to wards the incline.
Crying he held his head, exclaimed, "Why did that Duck hit me in the head?!!"
I said, "That was no duck! I threw a rock. And was yelling at you to duck to avoid getting hit in the head!"
He came scrambling up the embankment ready to clobber me.
He yelled at me and said, "Why did you hit me in the head with a rock? You could have killed me! What would've you done if you had killed me?"
I told him, "I would bury you in a shallow grave, and tell your parents that you had run away."
( He didn't appreciate my dry sense of humor. )
The vision had given me a choice to make. I ignored the vision's message, and my nephew suffered the consequences of my action.
I haven't had another vision like that since.
