That is strange, maybe people know but don't know how to contact them, or in some of the cases around here some places are locked up in probate due to deaths without wills ect.
But if you check with the county assessor, they can usually tell you who owns the property. You'll just need either the physical or 911 address.

ya it is real strange, most everyone in this area knows everyone else. EVERYBODY knows the location, but no one knows who owns it for sure, lol. it is really a nice location, right on the river, near the ol' bridge so much history/lore of the area, the town metz actually used to be in that area, theres the church and cemetary, 5 or so houses and the tracks/bridge left now, rest is fields

Hope we can do a camp out there... it would be my first choice. Get to work, Drac.... lol Seriously, I'm sure we would all appreciate the trouble you will have to go through to discover the owner and seek his or her permission..... Sounds like soooooooooooo much fun.

local.live.com/?v=2&lvl=10&style=h&sp=adr.2305%20e%2019th%20st%20N,%20Newton%2050208 is the web address, take some time get used to the setup/use of the page, check out your own town, u can zoom in to 100 m in most occasions. the pics of areas can be outdated by about 3-4 yrs, this is actually a sitalite picture, of the entire states. Now at the top of the page, there are 2 fields u can enter info, a bussniess, or a area. For the Metz area copy and paste this Metz, Jasper, Iowa, United States zoom in to 500 meters. Lower left corner, neptune road, you will see the river, and metz bridge. center in on the bridge, and zoom into 100 meters directly south of the bridge, on the west side, is the camp grounds. if i knew how to save the stickypoints, i could show ya the babyhouse, and cemetery on here, everyone show off a unique area, or just your house enjoy.

Awesome feature.... Have been trying to explain the particulars of the drive up to our house to out of town family for nearly a year. Now I can send it to them and they can see for themselves our placement in relation to the road.

Drac, I have found that the bank knows who owns everything or looks after it..... at least in our little town. You might try that to find out about the ownership of the campsite. If all else fails the courthouse, but sometimes just a little call to the bank will suffice.
